20% of sales from uk.davines.com purchases will be used for forestation this November 24.
Can Black Friday actually be a boon to climate action rather than just a commerce-driven holiday designed for hyperconsumption? It can if you shop with Davines. Carrying on the tradition we started in 2021, we invite you to purchase with purpose at our Green Friday event this November 24. We are proud to announce that we're giving 20% of online Green Friday sales to the tree-planting non-profit Scolel'te project to support forestation.
Green Friday: the origins
Green Friday is a movement that started in France in 2017 to propose a sustainable alternative to Black Friday. As the climate continues to change and our understanding of human impacts deepens, Green Friday becomes even more relevant and essential.
Davines has participated in Green Friday since 2021. We see the day as an opportunity to encourage our community to make empowered purchases that have a positive impact on the planet. In 2023, we are donating 100% of online Green Friday profits to our corporate partner, Scolel’te, and its work in carbon sequestration through creating forests. As a token of our appreciation, we’re offering free shipping on all orders.

Scolel’te is the world's longest-running ecosystem services project on the voluntary carbon market. Based in Chiapas, Mexico, the organization promotes sustainable rural development through forest conservation and regeneration. The project supports the local community by providing work opportunities that honor and protect the land, creating a sustainable future for the next generation.
Davines and Scolel’te
We partners with Scolel’te to offset our emissions through carbon credits. The project is known for trading the world's first voluntary carbon credits and has served as a benchmark in carbon offsetting globally. It’s the project that sparked the formation of the international Plan Vivo Foundation in 1994. Our partnership with Scolel’te is helping us at Davines meet our ambitious goals of protecting and increasing biodiversity around the world through regeneration.
Green Friday is just one day, but we at Davines make sustainability a priority all year. You can, too, by making small changes to your daily routines. As far as hair care goes, you can aim to wash your hair less often and with cool water, choose leave-on products and formulas made with ingredients that support regenerative agriculture, save energy by reducing hot tool usage. Our products are made in a carbon-neutral facility with ingredients that heal the planet instead
of hurting it.
