How to use OI Hand Oil for optimal hydration?

  • Apply the product to your hands even several times a day using the practical dropper;
  • Massage gently until completely absorbed.
  • Why do my hands chap?

    If your hands feel chapped and dry, it's because they usually lose the hydrolipidic film that covers the skin. This layer, in fact, is responsible for hydrating and protecting the hands, protecting them from external agents. However, when you expose your hands to cold or intense heat, use aggressive skin products or wash your hands very frequently, this layer begins to thin more and more and leave the epidermis more vulnerable.

    It is at this point that the hands begin to chap and flake. When the skin is significantly damaged to the point of creating cracks and wounds, the most effective solution may be the constant use of a cream for dry and cut hands.

    What to do for dry and chapped hands?

    When dealing with very chapped hands that are affected by the cold, you can follow a few simple steps to keep them soft and nourished:

    • Drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated throughout the day;
    • Include a  protective hand cream  in your skincare routine: apply it 2 to 5 times a day, or even more frequently if you have particularly dry hands;
    • If you come into contact with dish soap, household cleaning products, or harsh detergents, always remember to wear gloves;
    • Always carry a small moisturizer with you, in your purse, backpack, or car, so you can use it for any eventuality;
    • During the winter season, don't forget gloves: they can make a difference in protecting your hands from the cold;
    • In summer, however, apply sunscreen to your hands too: we don't always notice it, but the sun and heat dry out our skin quite a bit!
    • If you love semi-permanent manicures and use gel polishes that cure under a UV lamp, always protect the skin on your hands beforehand.
