#1 - Natural waves

  • Apply Volu Hair Mist to towel-dried hair, to add volume: focussing on the scalp, but don’t forget the mid-lengths. Comb hair to distribute the product throughout.
  • Use a hairdryer at a moderate temperature, to avoid additional stress to the hair fibre. If your hair is fine, try to tip your head upside when drying it for more volume. If needed, use a brush to smooth frizz from the ends.
  • Follow your hair’s natural parting and boost your waves using a curling iron on every few sectionsthroughout your hair for undone texture.
  • Finishing touch: mist a Dry Texturizer on still tight curls, for structure. End by running your fingers through hair and spray Shimmering Mist for added shine.

#2 - Messy low bun

  • Rough dry hair to keep your natural texture, with your hairdryer at a moderate temperature.
  • Apply Salt Spray to roots and mid lengths and work it in with your hands, to add texture and create small locks.
  • Tie hair back in a low, soft ponytail. Form a bun and fix it loosely in place with clips or hairpins, letting a few strands escape for a messy effect.
  • Fix your style in place with a Strong Hairspray.

PRO TIPS For Summer Hairstyles

Care for your hair, by cleaning it and protecting it from UV raysBefore styling, healthy hair is the foundation of a successful style. Remember these two essential steps for healthy hair and effortlessly chic looks this summer:

1. CLEANSING

Shampooand conditioner are essential for caring for your hair throughout the year. In the summer, they become even more important: shampoo helps us cleanse the scalp and the hair fibre of sand, salt or residual sweat and dirt. Conditioner nourishes and hydrates: pack your favourite Davines duo on holiday with you!

2. UV PROTECTION

To protect hair from the sun’s rays (particularly if you have blonde or bleached hair) we recommend applying a few spritzes of Heart of Glass Sheer Glaze or SU Hair Milk, with UV protection, to towel-dried hair. Comb the product evenly through the hair to help cover all strands.

#3 - High chignon with scarf

  • On dry hair apply a spritz of Dry Texturizer for volume. Then comb sections of hair backwards at the root.
  • Make a ponytail - not too high but above the occipital bone - to create a connecting line that joins the chin, the cheekbones and the head.
  • Loosen a few strands from the ponytail and let them fall forward, as if they were meant to be there.
  • Pull the ponytail forwards, loosening the knot slightly to create a casual, volumised look and a natural appearance. Fix with a Strong Hairspray.

  • Form a round bun on the head and fix it at the top with hairpins.
  • Wind a scarf around the hair and tie a bow slightly to one side of the forehead. To prevent the fabric from bunching up around the face, tuck in any excess material.

#4 - Wet look

  • After washing your hair, remove excess water by patting it dry with a towel. If your hair is porous and retains lots of water, you can briefly blow dry (but remember that your hair must stay wet for this look to work!).
  • Comb sections backwards at the root with a wide tooth comb and then run your hands over your hair to get rid of the most obvious ridges.
  • Use large clips to secure the hair behind the head, fix in place with an Extra Strong Hairspray and dry with the diffuser. When this part of the hair is dry, remove the clips.

Second Day Hair

  • Its best to start this hairstyle with second day hair.Pull up half your hair in to a bun and secure with a scrunchie or claw clip.
  • Remember to use aheat protectant before using heat on your hair. Take1-2 inch pieces of hair and use your Mermaid Waver Curling Iron and clamp a piece of hair close to the top, hold the curler for2-3 seconds and move down the strand until you run out of hair. Repeat this process so that all your hair is waved.
  • Style as desired, and finish off with asea salt spray to give it that mermaid beach look and amedium hold hairspray to hold the waves in place.
